Hugh is a Commissioning Editor at BBC Children’s specialising in award-winning entertainment and fact-ent formats, as exec of brands including Junior Bake Off; Matilda and The Ramsay Bunch; Art Ninja; The Nine To Five with Stacey Dooley; Now You See It; Richard Hammond’s Miracles of Nature; Help! My Supply Teacher is Magic and The Pets Factor.

His career began at Nickelodeon and, as well as working in BBC Factual and making series like Blue Peter, SMart and Cop School plus creating Saturday morning live ents show TMi, has included producing and directing at Disney and Viacom and working in the independent sector, as well as launching ground-breaking youth channel Where It’s At.

Hugh works closely with independent production companies to commission, shape and deliver ambitious and memorable series that both surprise and entertain and, though there are always great things in the development pipeline, he wants to hear about your stand-out, original ideas that can shine on TV, iPlayer, YouTube or any platform frequented by children.
