Melinda Toporoff is an Emmy Award-winning producer, writer and development executive with more than 25 years experience working across multiple platforms, formats and genres. In September 2019, Toporoff joined The WNET Group Kids Media and Education Department as series producer for PBS KIDSanimated series, Cyberchase.
In addition to her work on Cyberchase, Toporoff developed, wrote and produced Camp TV – a nationally broadcast, live action public television series that aims to bolster kids learning during the summer months. In partnership with world class museums and educational institutions, Camp TV launched at the height of the initial COVID-19 pandemic . The series and has since proven to be a powerful tool in providing equitable access to unique enrichment opportunities and a day camp experience for all.
Prior to WNET, Toporoff was an Executive Producer at HISTORY, Animal Planet & Discovery Kids, Director of Development at Walt Disney Animationand Associate Producer at Nickelodeon. Toporoff started her career in kids programming as a writer’s assistant at Sesame Workshop and received her Bachelor of Science in Communication and Media Studies from New York University.
